In 1929, at the age of 13, Pearl Carter Scott took her first solo flight, and became the youngest pilot in the United States. Pearl later became community health representative and was elected to the Chickasaw legislature.

Dr. Selene Phillips is an assistant professor at the University of Louisville, and has done extensive research into the life of Pearl Carter Scott. She will share what she has learned about this brave woman, and give us a glimpse into her research process.
